SOCIETY OF ANXIETY

What is it?
            Where does it come from?
                   Why do I have it?
                        How do I resolve  it?

Anxiety is something everyone experiences at one time or another.  It is the byproduct of the Flight or Fight primal reaction to fear.  And, we are born with the primal feeling of instinctual fear of the unknown.  It's our safety net to make us stop, look and listen before we act. And, when we are children, everything is the unknown except for the scent of our mother.  Smell is the first sense developed.  A newborn can distinguish it's mother from all others by her smell.

Needless to say, a vast majority of us begin life because we were never bonded to our mother or another parental role model.  Even those who were first bonded, most often lost that connection due to circumstances beyond their control leaving them with abandonment issues.  The list goes on with scenarios that prevented us from being safely and securely attached to a parental role model.

We began to experience life feeling unsafe.  This feeling causes a millisecond Fight or Flight         re-action which is how our body responds to fear.  In the early development of humans, this was what saved us from being eaten by the tiger lurking in the bushes. When we sensed danger, we re-acted by either Fleeing (Flight) or Fighting to save our Self.  So the primal survival instinct was essential to survival of mankind.

When we feel fear, the body produces a chemical called adrenalin to create the Flight or Fight reaction .  Our body begins to pump this into our muscles to make them react to the situation and save our Self.  The problem is, over time and the dawn of civilization, we no longer have to fear the "tiger in the bush" for our safety.  But, the body still operates with this primitive instinct.  Now, the danger has changed substantially while our body's instinct to keep us safe is still in full force.  The problem lies in the fear of the unknown.  And with the changes in our environment, we have created so much stress that the body  is constantly feeling unconscious fear from situations at work, driving, home, relationships, and the list of unsafe feelings goes on.

Early on, we used up that adrenalin when we fought or fled.  Each was an activity that used the muscles and depleted the adrenalin.  But with our life-style changes, we no longer have the options to fight or flee so the adrenalin gets stored in the muscles of our body. The build up of this chemical produces a feeling we call ANXIETY.  We are now a Society of Anxiety.

The concern with this is that most of us began to pump adrenalin in our early childhood years and have been creating it since.  Guess what that makes us?  Pavlov's dogs, creating adrenalin now at the just the thought of something new.  We've become adrenalin junkies ...addicted to CHAOS in order to get our fix.  Now, we move from one unstable situation to another in order to get our unconscious fix.  Our life-creating pattern of behavior that is grooved into our brain, our ego, is one of unconsciously seeking our unsettling situations so our body can get its fix of adrenalin.

HOW DO WE FIX IT? It is a process.  The 7 Steps in Take Back Your Power! teach you how to recreate the safety within that you lost in your childhood.  They teach you how to release the stored adrenalin in your muscles so you can learn how to feel a sense of well-being.  They teach you how to recover your spirited Self, to uncover the beliefs inhibiting your Spirit so you can be free to BE, to be "ME."    It is a process.  We learn more quickly in a group setting.  I use the workbook in my group settings which has been proven in so many venues to be more conducive to healing than one on one therapy.  ORDER NOW and join an online group or join me in person!!  GROUPS INFO.
